Children Produce News Reports For CLC Radio

CLC1.JPG

The children in year 5 have been down to Gateshead CLC to produce some exciting news reports for CLC Radio.
Some of the reports have been been replicated here.

Welcome to today’s News. I’m Michael O’Neill and I am reporting on recent events at Blaydon St Joseph’s school who have had international visitors visiting their school. The visitors came from Poland, Italy and Greece. They had come to compare their schools to our British schools and see how our children work in this country. They said that they enjoyed the warm welcome and the hospitality of the pupils. They also enjoyed the company of the children during lunch. They enjoyed their stay and love the facilities around the school and also in Newcastle. That concludes the report.

Welcome to the today’s news with Michael Renwick broadcasting from the CLC broadcast centre. The Government changed all of England’s school dinners in November because they weren’t very healthy.

They changed the school meals to healthy meals because healthy food is good for your brain and will make the children work harder. The teachers noticed the children were talking and being silly because of the unhealthy food.

One Teacher, Miss Shepherdson said, “Talking leads to big mistakes!

Changes have been made recently because the food made the children hyperactive. Blaydon St. Josephs is working on a menu that will make children work harder and will make the children be better behaved.

Thank you and goodbye

Hello, welcome to today’s news, I am Reese Champion and I am going to tell you a little bit about the day when St.Joseph’s school went to St. Mary’s Cathedral in Newcastle.

There was a mass for the first half of the morning, which had a lovely choir. Over one hundred children and their teachers attended the mass.

There was a dance in church aisle followed by sign language. All of the classes involved tried hard and did very well.

The mass was all about St. Cuthbert and how he told stories; it was also about God and how he is always by our side. One person who attended the mass thought it was a very good mass and would like to see this kind of thing again. Another women who attended said, “I thought it was a beautiful mass, the children performed well together.

My personal opinion is that the mass went well. It made it so much easier for people to understand the story we were trying to tell.
