Sorry to See You Go

Even though we are sorry to see year 6 leaving our school, we have many fond memories of them. However, these are their memories of life at St. Joseph's School.

Reception Class

In Reception I mostly enjoyed meeting new kind friends and having an older Year 6 pupil to look after me called a special friend. I also remember playing with the bikes, scooters, and going down the slide. My teacher was Mrs Crozier and her helper Mrs McSherry. I felt very special because in the school play I was a star. I really enjoyed going to White House Farm to see all the animals.

Year 1

Year one was a better year because I knew everyone really well. My reading was really starting to come on and I could read more words. We went to South Shields beach again as always the weather was lovely and perfect for building sandcastles. Miss Forman was our teacher she was really nice and always kind. I loved show and tell. I once brought in these long black hair pony tales as a joke Miss Forman thought they were real. I joined skipping club run by our head teacher. I loved it was extremely fun.

Year 2

In year 2 I remember learning about the Great Fire of London. I enjoyed that because I learnt a lot of things. In year 2 I had two teachers, Miss. Eley and Mrs. Hague they were both very nice and caring. I remember learning about Josephs multi-coloured dream coat that was fun too.

Year 3

In Year 3 our teacher was called Miss Westgarth. She used to teach us about the Romans, World War 2, and she also took us on a trip to Bede’s World. We Watched a Video Called The king of Egypt it was about Moses saving the Egyptians from the Pharaoh. It was really good fun and Great year to start in KS2.

Year 4

I liked it in year 4 because I had lots of good memories.
My teacher was Mr Hannah. We went to a multi skills tournament it was me, Kate, Jennifer, Donnielle, Ryan, Benidict, Declan and Burro. We won the tournament and we all felt good. In year 4 we learned to speak French I wasn’t very good but I still liked it. I can remember doing dance with Elaine, some of the girls did an after school club with her. Also we used to go swimming every Wednesday morning I used to love going and on the first time we went it was so funny because Paige fell in the baby pool. I know I shouldn’t be laughing but it was funny.

Year 5
In year 5 I had one of my favourite teachers- Miss Shepherdson! She was really kind and everyone liked her! She took us to the enterprise, where you had to design any product you like. Our class designed jigsaws! They were called St. Joseph’s jigsaws and we made a banner, a song, some posters, a poem and a power presentation! I was in PowerPoint group with Michael Renwick, Connor Smith and my best friend Katie Gray! One time, Miss Shepherdson took us to the dance festival after teaching us a dance for Christmas then changed the music to panpipes! There were lots of groups there and a huge audience. My Dad and my grandad came to watch but my grandma couldn’t come because she had a bad back! To finish our day we all got certificates!

Year 6

My worst memory from Year 6 is when we had SATS, I hated them.
However my special friend is Rachel and she has blonde hair and is really cute. I love her to bits.
My best memory was probably Victorian Day. We dressed up as Victorians for the day, learnt their lessons and did cross-stitching in the afternoon.
My most favourite trips were Killhope lead mine and pond dipping. I loved Killhope lead mine because we had to wear our wellies and go down the mine.
