Budding Artists at St. Joseph's
My painting of bluebells reached the final of the Northumbria in Bloom Children’s painting competition.
In June I was invited to the award presentation. There were lots of children there from schools around the region and the TV and Radio presenter Marian Forster gave out the awards. She presented me with a certificate of merit.
Although I didn’t win the overall prize for my age group, I was very proud to be in the final ten and I am looking forward to entering the competition again next year.

Mathematics Evening for Year 3 and 4
Dear Parents or Guardians
Have you ever wondered which addition or subtraction method they are doing at school or how do their sums look so different from when I was at school?
Well here is your chance to find out how the children are expected to do various calculations in year 4 and 3.
There is a meeting for parents to find out about ‘Maths Methods’ on Wednesday 31st October at 4:30 p.m. This session will last just over an hour and will hopefully be informative, so you can support your children with homework or just generally at home.
I hope you will take up this opportunity to extend your understanding of how the children work but don’t be too worried there won’t be a test at the end of it.
