Reception Class’s First Liturgy at St Joseph’s Church
On Tuesday 25th November we had our class Liturgy with Father Keith in St Joseph’s church. We went straight to church with our parents and grandparents. Our Liturgy was about Baptism.

We all sat on the altar and everyone had something to say. Father Keith then showed us what happens when someone is baptised. The baby was wrapped in a white shawl, water was poured on the baby’s head and he gave it a name. The sign of the cross was made on the baby and special oil was put on it’s forehead to give it strength.

When we had finished our Liturgy we sang a song and Father Keith talked about the different coloured vestments he wears and some of us tried them on.

He then showed us lots of other interesting things around the church.

When we had finished we all walked back up to school. It always seems longer on the way back.
